6 months

As of yesterday, Lucas is 6 months old. It really is amazing how fast time has gone. He is getting so close to sitting up on his own. He's laughing more without having to be tickled first, which is fun. He's not sleeping through the night yet but we're getting closer. Generally he'll go for about 5 hours but we're working on getting him to go longer. He doesn't have any teeth yet, but he drools all the time and chews on anything he can get a hold of. He has his 6 month check-up today so we'll see what his stats are then.

He loves to have something to hold on to when he goes to sleep. He usually has a puppy that he sleeps with but that was in the laundry yesterday. The elephant seemed to work just fine as a substitute.

He will chew on anything he can grab.

His hair is really starting to fill in, though he still has that bald spot on the back of his head.

For Aunt Rachael. The cow outfit just barely still fits him. Thought you'd like to see it again.

And as a side note, I finally finished Lucas's quilt. (Ignore the bad photography. It's a little tricky to get a picture of a whole quilt.)

 

I went running today.

Well, it was more like jogging/walking. I had every intention of going running, but failed to take into consideration how apparently very out of shape I am. For those of you who don't know me, this is a rather big accomplishment. I never get up fully motivated to work out. Today I did it. Just thought you should know.

3 Years

Tuesday, May 5th was our 3 year anniversary.

This is how the day started.

Jeff made stuffed french toast for us.

Then later in the day there was a knock at the door.

I opened the door and there was Jeff holding these roses for me.

For dinner we went to eat at Ruby River.

The steak was really good.

(Thanks for the money for dinner, Dad.)

We took the scenic route home from dinner.

It was a beautiful night.

It was a good day.

So...

playing catch up is a lot harder than I thought it would be. I promise I'll get to it soon. And by the way, Lucas will be 5 months old on Sunday. He's such a happy little boy. Here's a cute picture to hold you over.

Day of the St Patty's!

So, I had the wierdest dream last night. 

I dreamt that I was at a pub drinking beer and dark ale all night long.  I was totally drunk and I walked home (I'm glad to know that even in my dreams, if I were to drink, I would not drive.) I then spent the rest of the night worrying what I was going to tell Amy. 

I wonder if St Patrick slipped me a mickey last night...

Time to Catch Up

Well I don't have enough time now to post all the catch up blogs I need to do, but I promise to do them soon. In the meantime, here is a video of Lucas rolling over. He started doing it about a month ago (which is about how old this video is). Most of our family has seen this already, I think, but for the rest of you who read this blog, enjoy! (My family finds me more entertaining than Lucas in the video, but I figure the kid needs a bit of encouragement if he's gonna keep doing it, right?)

Birthday Time!

Jeff's birthday was on the 27th of January and mine was on the 28th, so we had a fun couple of days at our house (and a whole lot of cake).

We went to Applebee's for dinner on Jeff's birthday where he got a free dessert.

I made a Texas Sheet Cake for Jeff.
